HEADQUARTERS SECOND CAVALRY DIVISION February 25, 2008 My dear comrades in arms, Today is the sixty-fifth anniversary of the Division's activation on the parade at Fort Clark. You were there, full of youthful vigor and eager to serve our country in the time of war. Then you joined the ranks of the famed Buffalo Soldiers, a proud legacy you have faithfully carried on these many years. The shadows are lengthening now, your ranks are thinning, the time has come for a last tattoo at Fort Clark. Will you answer the call once again and return to Fort Clark where memory of your service lingers and a long overdue salute awaits you? Harry H. Johnson |
